Inauguration Day

As a Republican and as a conservative, I gave my all to elect Senator John McCain on November 4, 2008. And I daily fought against Barack Obama, the naivete of his foreign policy, and the liberalism of his domestic agenda.

But, starting this inaugural morning, I recognize President Obama as my President and as the Commander-in-Chief of our military. I know that his election will be seen worldwide as a symbol of American opportunity. And I hope and pray that he succeeds in fulfilling his commitment to our nation.

    Cautious optimism should be the attitude that we focus on. Cautious because the Democrats control government. Optimistic because Democrats are bound to violate the will of the people and we'll have a window of opportunity.

    Assuming we have the right leadership. We need you to pull through for the party and the country, Chip!

    I think we all can agree that even though he was not our choice, he is the President of the United States and deserves our respect.

    obama’s campaign was well executed and well funded.

    republicans would be wise to quietly gather their new found friends from “super tuesday” caucuses, band together tightly and watch obama and his congress prudently.

    btw the way i would have rather cast a ballot for sen frist.

    Chip, I agree with you. Although I wanted Gov. Huckabee to be giving that speech, I respect President Obama and his accomplishments.
